The KPSNA Community App is the member directory of the KPSNA Charitable Foundation (Kadwa Patel Samaj of North America), a 501(c)(3) non-profit. It is a private directory of one community's families, available only to approved KPSNA members.
Because it is a directory of families, it necessarily holds records of children — entered and controlled by their own parent or guardian. We take that responsibility seriously, and this page sets out our standards.
KPSNA has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation. Child sexual abuse material (CSAM), any sexualisation of a minor, grooming, sextortion, trafficking, and any other form of child sexual abuse or exploitation are absolutely prohibited in this app, in any form, by anyone.
This is not a conduct guideline that can be balanced against other considerations. There is no warning and no second chance: an account involved in CSAE is removed, and the matter is reported to the authorities.
The strongest child-safety measure in this app is what it deliberately does not do. These are properties of the software, not promises about behaviour.
| Measure | What it means |
|---|---|
| No messaging of any kind | The app has no chat, no direct messages, no comments, no file sharing, and no public posting. Members cannot send anything to each other through it. There is no channel in which a stranger could contact a child. |
| Children cannot hold accounts | Only adults can sign in. The age check is deliberately conservative, and it is re-applied on every single request — not only at sign-up — so an account can never continue to be used by someone who should not have one. |
| Closed membership | Nobody can browse the directory anonymously or sign themselves up. Every registration is reviewed by hand by the Tech/Admin Team, who confirm the applicant is a real KPSNA member before any access is granted. |
| A child's details are hidden from everyone outside their household | Outside their own household, a child appears as a name and a family relationship only. No phone number, no email address, no birth year, no occupation, no social-media link — and no privacy setting, by the family or by anyone else, can add any of them back. It is a fixed rule in the code, not a default. |
| A child's photo requires an explicit parental opt-in | No photo of a minor is ever shown outside their household unless the Head of that household has given an explicit, recorded opt-in and the photo has separately passed moderation. Either one missing means the photo is not shown. |
| Every photo is reviewed before anyone can see it | All photos go to a moderation queue and are reviewed by the Tech/Admin Team. A photo is not visible to other members until it has been approved. |
| Directory searches are logged | Searches and record views are recorded so that misuse can be traced to whoever did it. This is a deliberate exception to our general rule of keeping personal information out of our logs, and it exists precisely so that an investigation is possible. |
If you see anything in this app that raises a child-safety concern — a photo that should not be there, a record that should not be there, or any behaviour by a member that worries you — report it. You do not need to be certain, and you will not be asked to justify raising it.
Reports of this kind are treated as the highest priority and are handled by the Tech/Admin Team.
Removal from the app is a decision about this app only, and it is made immediately and independently of any separate decision about KPSNA membership.
KPSNA Charitable Foundation complies with applicable child-safety and child-protection laws in the jurisdictions where our members live, including United States federal reporting obligations for apparent child sexual abuse material. We cooperate with law enforcement requests relating to child safety.
These standards are published in accordance with Google Play's Child Safety Standards policy and Apple's App Store Review Guidelines.
